How to set up the Facebook pixel
- A post on how to set up the Facebook pixel on your website -
It is important that you add the Facebook pixel before you start running your campaigns because you want to be able to track the action users take on your site and also build audiences.
In Business settings, select the Data Sources dropdown and then Pixels.
Select Add and you will be presented with the below screen. Name you pixel. You can also enter your website URL and Facebook will check to see if your site was set up using one of their integration partners (such as Wordpress, Shopify or Squarespace) and they will offer recommendations for setting up your pixel code on the next screen.
Once you filled in the details, select continue and then select the option to set up the pixel now. Now you have 3 options to set up the pixel code on your website.
Partner Integration - If your website has been built through one of Facebook's partners as mentioned above, select this option.
Manually add pixel to website - This is a bit more technical and should only be selected if you know what you are doing.
Email instructions to a developer - If you have had a developer build your site and you don't have access to the code, select this option. The developer should be able to add the pixel code for you.
For this post, I am going to select the partner integration option.
You will be presented with a list of partners, select the one relevant to you. From here Facebook will give you detailed instructions on how to add the pixel to your site. Once it is added, you are ready to start building your campaigns. Good luck 😊
